Pricing FAQ
The questions clients actually ask.
Real answers, in plain English. If something isn't covered here, ask on the discovery call.
Why monthly retainer instead of per-session?
Because 60–80% of real coaching work happens off the floor — reviewing your assessments, designing your program, interpreting patterns, adjusting between sessions, answering questions during the week. Per-session pricing hides that work and incentivizes me to keep you booking sessions. Monthly retainer aligns my incentives with yours: get you results faster.
What does "program design" actually mean?
A written 4–12 week training program designed specifically for your assessment findings — corrective work, mobility, strength, conditioning, recovery — all in one document. Revised monthly as your body changes. This alone is what most coaches charge $300–500/month for as a standalone service.
Why does in-person have tax but online doesn't?
Washington State sales tax (10.5%) applies to in-person services. Online coaching is tax-free under WA law. If you book any of the retainers as fully online, no tax. If you train in-person at the Renton studio, the in-person portion of the retainer is taxed at 10.5%. I'll walk through the exact breakdown on the discovery call.
What if I'm not ready to commit to 3 months?
Start with the standalone Root Cause Assessment ($300) — a 2-hour in-person evaluation with verbal recommendations. No program, no follow-up. You walk away with clarity on what's actually going on and zero pressure to continue. If you want the written program, add it for $200. Then if/when you're ready, you can roll into a retainer.
Do you offer couples or partner coaching?
Yes — for couples / partners / spouses training together, I quote privately at roughly 70–75% of the full retainer per person. This isn't a public tier because every couple's setup is different (training together, separately, hybrid). Mention it on the discovery call and we'll work out the right structure.
What's the cancellation policy?
3-month minimum on retainers, then month-to-month. After the initial 3 months, cancel anytime with 30 days notice — no fees, no penalties. The 3-month minimum exists because root-cause work doesn't show meaningful change before that; I'd rather decline the engagement than take your money knowing the timeline is too short to deliver.
Do you take insurance / HSA / FSA?
I'm a Master CHEK Practitioner and exercise scientist, not a licensed medical provider — so insurance doesn't reimburse. However, many HSA/FSA accounts cover health coaching with a Letter of Medical Necessity from your doctor. I can provide receipts for HSA/FSA submission; you'll need to confirm with your plan.
